It’s rare that I read something an insurance company puts out and think it’s “of quality” to include in one of my newsletters, but this is one of those times (thanks Allianz).
Why should you download this Q&A piece?
It has very detailed answers to many questions I’ve had about annuities and if I had this piece, it could have saved me hours of research. Hopefully, it can do the same for those who download it.
I think all the info is good, but the info I believe can be most helpful is on trust-owned annuities. Most advisors don’t understand the ramifications of having trust-owned annuities and this paper does a great job of explaining the pros and cons, plus tax issues.
While I think the info on trust-owned annuities is the most interesting, many may think the info on buying annuities in IRAs and Qualified Retirement Plans is the most interesting.
Look at the table of contents to determine for yourself if you think it is worth downloading.

A White Paper for 402(a) Fiduciaries to Consider
FIAs in ERISA-Governed Pension Plans
In 2020 I wrote a 21-page white paper on why FIAs MUST be considered as an asset class by qualified plan fiduciaries. I figured that many advisors interested in Advanced Markets Q&A on annuities should also be interested in my FIAs in pension plans white paper.
