The Divorce Planning Guidebook—Read it for Free (paying it forward)

Why am I letting people read this book for free?

I came to the conclusion that it’s far more important for the maximum number of people to read this book than it is for me to make X amount on book sales. The subject matter is too important and the number of people who can be helped by the book is endless.

Why should advisors read this book?

If you are having marital issues or are going through a divorce, you should read the book. But if you can learn this subject matter (even a little) and give better support, comfort, and advice to clients who are having marital problems, are thinking of getting a divorce, or are in the middle of a divorce, you can positively affect their lives in their most dire time of need.

Positively affecting someone’s life

It’s pretty bold to think that a book you write can affect someone’s life. I’d like to think that my financial education books can help affect someone’s life, but I know that the divorce book will and has affected the lives of those who have read it (or those who will read it).

How do I know that? Because I’ve had people reach out after reading the book to say thanksand tell me how it helped them in their time of need.

Divorce can be the most stressful time of someone’s life!

If you’ve been through a divorce or know someone who has, you know that, for most, it is THE most stressful thing they will ever go through (even more stressful than health issues).

Helpless feeling

Most people who go through a divorce feel quite helpless. They know nothing about the subject matter, they are at the mercy of the court, if kids are involved, they are at the mercy of the Friend of the Court (with custody issues), not a judge, and the spouse on the other side many times is trying to make life miserable or even worse trying to destroy you.

Divorce is lonely

Besides providing funds to help pay attorneys, parents and friends really can’t help. And, for the most part, people don’t want to talk about their divorce even with family or friends (they are embarrassed and/or it’s too stressful to talk about).

Most divorce attorneys are not very good!

While few know this, most divorce attorneys are not very good. Attorneys do divorce work for the money but don’t like it. Being a good divorce attorney is like being a great painter. You have to love your work and it takes real talent and commitment that few have.

The by-product of using a bad attorney is that clients get frustrated, spend thousands or even tens of thousands, and get bad outcomes.

Child custody issues can be devastating and heartbreaking

This is the #1 reason it’s important to find the “best” divorce attorney you can. There is nothing more personal than being in a battle to keep custody (partial or full) of a child. And this is when someone’s feelings of depression and helplessness hit an all-time high.

The Divorce Planning Guidebook

My dad, Roccy, Sr., was an attorney for 30 years. One of his areas of practice was divorce law and I was lucky enough to work with him for a few years and see him in action. He was an awesome divorce attorney. He actually cared about his clients and took every step legally possible to help them get a good outcome. He was a killer strategist as well. It’s not enough to know the law. You have to have a better strategy than your competitor to get the outcome you desire.

The Divorce Planning guidebook is 30 years of my dad’s knowledge put into a book that was written to be a very practical guide to divorce.

The book is a strategic guide to help readers:

-Plan before Divorce

-Thrive in a Contested Divorce

-Secure Child Custody

-Secure “Fair” Alimony Payments

-Obtain a “Fair” Property Settlement

-Pre- and Post-Divorce Financial Planning*

There are countless real-world stories (without real names) that readers can both learn from and take comfort from (knowing that they are not alone, that others have gone through something similar, and that they can make it through to the other side (there is hope)).

Hopefully, this newsletter will motivate you to read the book and pass it on.

If you want to buy a paperback version or one on Kindle, you can get it from Amazon.
